When it comes to global health, there is no ‘them’… only ‘us’.
—Global Health Council
The World Health Organization is a multinational agency created by the United Nations concerned with the health of the global community. WHO targets all health-related points of discussion, discussing all possible threats to the public health and reaching a conclusion to their safety, and establishes and promotes universal and international standards for health. The World Health Organization is especially noted for their work in the isolation and eradication of smallpox, and has since then shifted focus on topics ranging from communicable and sexually transmitted diseases to food safety and nutrition, and even substance abuse. WHO periodically publishes the World Health Report, the leading international journal on health, and is responsible for conducting the World Health Survey.
